HAPPY NEW YEAR (plus news!)

Happy New Year to you all! Last year was a long and arduous one for me and for many people I know. But 2010 is looking bright!

Tim has finished all the artwork for Book One and it is now in my hands for the lettering and finished art steps. We're heading toward a launch somewhere in June/July.

VERY exciting times.

Hey, hey we're the Monty's...

I've been waiting for this pic to arrive for well over a year and this morning it landed in my inbox, Tims detailed rendition of The Monty's! Once the most famous pop band (circa 1960's) in the country, now a novelty act who travel the country in their retro bus, performing at shopping malls.

They only play a small role in Book One, but play a much larger role in Book Two!!

Work Continues...

Book One

As Tim and I head towards the finish of Dave: Zombie Hunter Book One, I thought I'd post an example of the evolving look. On the left of this image is the artwork as finished by Tim and then on the right the same page but with a bit of 'grunge' added to it.

Hopefully it replicates a bit of that "Night Of The Living Dead" look and feel, but without sacrificing all the detail and 'awesome' that Tim puts into the artwork.

Fonts, size of type and borders on panels are all still being adjusted and played with. Paper stock samples are coming into the studio tomorrow (exciting), so I can see exactly what we'll be printing onto. It's all systems go!
